Dinosaur Valley

We took the kiddos down to Dinosaur Valley in Glen Rose, TX on friday and man did we have fun. The day was spent laughing, splashing, fishing, looking, and for Alyssa and I shaking.

When we first got there the boys went straight to fishing but where they got down it was alittle steep so Alyssa and I went up the trail to see if we could find a easier way down to the water, well we found a little trail and then a smaller trail off of that Alyssa said she wanted to go first this time so she went ahead, she was maybe 7 feet ahead of me and I saw a snake! it was in between her and I on the side of the trail, I stopped and calmly said, "Alyssa calmly and quickly come to me" she looked at me and then at the snake and did just that I was so proud i meen this kid is afraid of everything and she handled this perfectly I must say I was pretty proud of myself to for not freaking out I meen I had Job strapped to me a snake in between me and my daughter and nick up the river.

After we got back to the big trail I stopped and said lets pray and thank God for protecting us and keeping us safe. We did. What a blessing it was not only to come out of that unharmed but also to show Alyssa that we can praise God for it as well. Then Alyssa prayed that everyone else would be safe from that snake as well (what a heart this one has).

Playing
Monster ants these things were like an inch long
looking at the ants, goofs
Job looking at them looking at the ants, did you follow that?
there was a school field trip group at the dino footprints (acting a fool I might add, and the teachers just standing there doing nothing, I am so glad God has called me to homeschool) so we waited, patiently I might add I was a proud momma
Still waiting
DINO prints, very cool
this spot was loaded with footprints
daddy met us at this spot (for lunch) but before we ate he caught a bass

Job fell asleep at lunch
After lunch the kiddos and i sat in the car (AC) to cool down some and let Job sleep alittle I decided to drive around the park and see what there was and I found this little playground away from the main area it was in the campgrounds so Alyssa and Will played  awhile no one was there and i could park the car right there next to the swings  I also nursed Job here because of the privacy.
We then went and looked at the dino statues man were they big, the kids asked if i would read the signs in front of them (good homeschool kiddos lol)

I did however i skipped the 6 million years ago parts. lol

photo op
we drove around alittle more before our meeting time with daddy to swim before leaving and we saw this doe with her two little fawns. so cute God is so good.

swimming and swapping stories.

The kids on the way back home I think we wore them out!! I joined them not long after this pic was taken!

What a great time we had, Thank You Jesus for giving us this time together learning and exploring as a family!

Are those dino prints real? My children have been so patient so many times waiting for a field trip to clear out so we can enjoy an attraction, I too am so glad we have been blessed to homeschool. I have a prayer request, we have some friends, the wife used to be a gov. school teacher (before kiddos) the children are going to be in 5th and 3rd grade in the fall, they are contemplating homeschooling, which is real progress, but, they are looking at a gov. schools online alternative home education thing; please pray that God would show them that they are plenty capable of giving the children the education that they need.
